FAQ
The questions we hear most.
What does “software agnostic” actually mean?
We don’t sell a platform and we don’t take referral fees from the ones we recommend. For each tournament we evaluate registration, payments, scoring, comms, and sponsor tools, then pick the stack that fits your format, budget, and team.
Do you replace our existing tournament software?
Often, no. If what you have works, we’ll keep it and improve how you use it. If it’s holding you back, we’ll recommend an alternative and migrate you cleanly, without lock-in.
Who is this for?
Charities running annual fundraising tournaments, corporations running client outings, and golf associations producing multi-event series. If a real human running your event would change the outcome, we’re for you.
Are you on-site at the tournament?
It depends on the scope we quote. We can be fully on-site leading the day, run it remotely with an on-call line, or hand you a playbook so your team runs the day with us in the background.
How is this different from other tournament platforms?
Other platforms are software. Tournament Team is a team. Our team built tournament software and learned that great software still leaves a gap, the operator gap. We exist to fill it.
What does the free audit actually include?
A 30-minute call with the Tournament Team and a written summary of what we'd change about your current setup, registration, scoring, sponsor activation, comms, and run-of-show. No obligation.
Do you work with smaller, first-year tournaments?
Yes. Many of our best engagements start in year one, when the foundations get set right. We scope a lean, foundation-first quote so you're not paying for support you don't need yet.
Why not just have our committee run it?
Plenty of committees do, and some do it well. The question is what it costs you. Most committees spend the six weeks before the event doing tournament logistics instead of selling sponsorships and filling foursomes, the two things that actually move the number. We take the logistics so your people can spend that time where it pays.
How far in advance should we book?
Six to nine months before your event date is ideal, because the decisions that raise the most money, sponsorship tiers, registration pricing, and format, get made early. That said, we've come in at six weeks and made a real difference. If your date is close, call us anyway.
What regions do you work in?
We work with tournaments across North America. Remote and hybrid engagements work anywhere; on-site day-of leadership depends on travel, which we scope in the quote.
Do you handle sponsor fulfillment and tax receipting?
Sponsor fulfillment, yes. We track what each sponsor was promised and make sure every logo, sign, and mention actually happens. Tax receipting we set up and configure inside your platform, but the receipts themselves are issued by your organization under your charitable registration.
What if our tournament is in six weeks?
Book the audit anyway. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help in the time available. Sometimes the right answer is a short foundation engagement now and a full one next year.
Still have a question?
Ask it on the audit call, or email us. We answer either way.
